Someone has put a .30 caliber hole through one of the 25 yard bullet traps on the Short Pistol Range. This was probably done with either a .30 carbine or a .300 blackout round. — AR Pistols that fire rifle length rounds like .300 blackout, 6.5 Grendel, or any of the .223/5.56 chamberings are NOT pistols permitted on either of the pistol ranges. .30 Carbine is also NOT a pistol round. Any member caught using one of these on the pistol range(s) will lose their membership.

The September 12 Bullseye Pistol match has moved to Sunday, September 13 from 12:00 noon to 3:00. This is to allow members to attend the annual Brooklyn Hot Dog match – all members are invited to participate and partake in hot dogs. Contact Mike Goebel for details.

Be aware that there are numerous ticks at the range. Take standard precautions, including using DEET repellants, maintaining awareness as you are shooting, and checking for any hitchhikers after you get home.

The HESCO barriers have been filled. The Long and Short Pistol Ranges are now separate ranges and the prior requirement to make both ranges safe before anyone goes downrange on either range are no longer in effect.
